Weight System & Additional Bolts

This carbon extension is designed to replace the entire two-piece Schon weight bolt and rubber bumper assembly. That original assembly (using the lightest aluminum Schon weight bolt) weighs about 0.9 oz. Our extension takes the place of both pieces.

For players who want more butt-end weight, we offer 3/8 x 16 headless set-screw weight bolts that are 1" long and weigh approximately 0.4 oz each. When using our one-piece bumper adapter, the cue will only accept one of these 0.4 oz weight bolts unless a cue repair technician taps the weight bore deeper by 1–2 inches to make room for additional weights.

If you are purchasing a Schon extension, we can include one 0.4 oz headless weight bolt at no additional charge upon request. Please note this in the order comments.

Will this extension work on Viking, Joss, Balabushka, Meucci, Lucasi, Pechauer, or Valhalla cues?

Yes. This extension will work with all of these cues when paired with the correct bumper adapter, because each compatible adapter accepts the same 5/16-18 pin on the extension. Adapters for additional cue brands are available here: Extra Bumper Adapter to Fit Meucci / Joss / Viking .

Most Meucci, Pechauer, Viking, Joss, and Balabushka cues have approximately a 1.280" butt diameter, so their butts will appear slightly larger than this 1.250" stranded carbon extension. The extension will function perfectly; it will simply look a bit slimmer than these wider cue butts.

How do I remove the Schon rubber bumper?

Schon bumpers are screwed into the cue’s weight bolt. Use a very small Phillip's head screwdriver to carefully back the bumper out of the butt. Once removed, our adapter and extension assembly will replace both the factory bumper and the original two-piece weight bolt.

Stock Note

When the 8" black 1.280-diameter option is out of stock, the stranded carbon extension will still work on other brands and Schon cues. It will simply feel slightly smaller in diameter than the cue butt.
