FAQ

Will this extension also work on Schon, Balabushka, Meucci, Lucasi, Pechauer, or Valhalla cues?

Yes. This extension will work with all of these cues when it is paired with the correct bumper adapter, because each compatible adapter accepts the same 5/16-18 pin on the extension. Adapters for additional cue brands are available here: Extra Bumper Adapter.

Most Meucci, Pechauer, Viking, Joss, and Balabushka cues have approximately a 1.280" butt diameter, and this extension is sized to match a 1.280" butt. On slimmer 1.250" cues (such as most Schon cues and some Lucasi or Valhalla models), the extension will still function perfectly but will appear slightly larger in diameter than the butt.

Some early-1990s Schon cues also used a push-in style bumper instead of a screw-in bumper. This extension and bumper adapter will not fit those early push-in bumper Schon cues unless they are converted by an experienced cue repair technician.

Will this fit a Viking with a Push-in style bumper?

No. Over the years, Viking has used both screw-in and push-in bumper styles. Our adapter is designed for cues with a screw-in bumper, because it threads into the weight-bolt area where the bumper and bolt were installed. Some early 1990s Viking cues used push-in bumpers and may not be compatible without modification by a cue repair technician. If your Viking is from an older era, check whether the bumper screws in or pushes in before ordering.

Will the adapter for the Viking and Joss fit my Valhalla?

The Viking and Valhalla share the same thread, but Valhalla cues need a slightly longer screw to reach past a section in the butt with no threads. Pechauer and Valhalla use the same longer-reach adapter so the screw can pass through this unthreaded “void” and properly engage the threads deeper in the cue.

Diameter Differences

Older Viking cues are typically around 1.280" at the butt, while many newer Viking cues produced in 2024 or later are closer to 1.250". Viking has moved to a slimmer butt size on newer cues.

This extension is sized to match a 1.280" butt. On newer 1.250" Viking cues, the extension will play correctly but will be slightly larger than the butt.

Stock Note

When the 8" black Viking-diameter (1.280") option is out of stock, the 1.250" stranded carbon extension will still work on larger-diameter cues; it will simply be slightly smaller in diameter than the butt of the cue.
