Meucci 97-21B Pool Cue
The Meucci 97-21B features a black Power Piston forearm with six ivory-colored points. Each point contains an intricate combination of pearlized plastic and ebony-colored decorative work. The cue is completed with a urethane-coated black Irish linen wrap and an elaborately decorated black butt sleeve.
The sleeve contains six ebony-colored notched-diamond designs with red accents extending above and below the inlays. Pearlized plastic and ivory-colored oval accents complete the design.
This cue comes with the 29" Meucci Pro Shaft. It has a 12.5mm UltraSkin Medium tip, traditional polycarbonate ferrule, 14"–16" pro taper, and a brass-threaded insert. The cue uses a flat-faced wood-to-wood joint with a 5/16 x 18 pin.
Why Is This Cue Reduced From $1,150 to $800?
Budget Billiards is disclosing the condition of this cue plainly so the buyer understands exactly what is being purchased. This is not manufacturer-perfect inventory being advertised with carefully selected stock photographs. The photographs show the actual cue and its actual cosmetic condition.
Disclosed Cosmetic Defects
- Finish yellowing: The clear finish developed visible yellowing within weeks after purchase from the manufacturer.
- Defective lower inlay: One of the synthetic pearl-colored inlays near the bottom of the cue appears to have been cut undersized. The resulting space was filled with black epoxy rather than being fitted with a properly sized inlay.
- Chipped area: The same synthetic pearl-colored inlay also contains a visible chip that was filled with black epoxy.
- Not sold as flawless: These conditions are visible in the product photographs and are reflected in the $350 price reduction.
The Manufacturer Declined Responsibility
Budget Billiards was charged the regular price for this cue. When the cosmetic defects became apparent, the manufacturer would not provide warranty coverage, replace the cue, accept its return, or compensate us for the reduced value.
We therefore held the cue in inventory rather than passing an undisclosed cosmetic defect to one of our customers at full retail price.
The cue remains structurally usable, but its appearance is not what a customer should reasonably expect from a cue originally priced at $1,150. The reduced price allows a buyer to decide whether the decorative imperfections are acceptable at a savings of $350.
— Seth & Jeremy, Owners of Meucci Cues, LLC
In other words, Meucci’s current ownership considers the appearance of a decorative cue to be the dealer’s responsibility once the cue has been purchased—even when the cosmetic condition reduces what a customer would reasonably be willing to pay for it.
What the Buyer Will Receive
The buyer will receive the exact cue shown in the photographs. Please enlarge and review every photograph carefully, particularly the finish color and the decorative inlay near the bottom of the butt sleeve.
By purchasing this cue, the buyer acknowledges that the disclosed finish yellowing, filled inlay area, chip, and related cosmetic irregularities are part of the cue’s present condition and are the reason for the reduced price.
Budget Billiards Return Policy
Budget Billiards provides a 60-day return period. The cue may be returned as long as it remains in the same condition in which it was received, with no chalking, play wear, dents, dings, scratches, or other signs of use.
The disclosed cosmetic conditions shown in the photographs are not undisclosed defects and should not be used as a reason for returning a cue after it has been chalked or played.
Manufacturer Warranty Disclaimer
Meucci’s limited one-year manufacturer warranty applies only to qualifying defects that affect structural integrity or performance. Cosmetic imperfections, finish yellowing, color variation, decorative flaws, inlay irregularities, warpage, dings, and dents should not be expected to qualify for manufacturer warranty coverage.
Please purchase only after reviewing the photographs and disclosures. Budget Billiards is providing the information that we believe should have been addressed before this cue was sold to us at its regular price.
